What is the service platform?
   
It is a tool for collaboration between different biobanks, research groups and users of Valencian Biobanking Network (RVB), in order to optimize resources and to work together.
 
The platform, develop new technologies and procedures for the study of biology and genetics of tumors, it provides advice on the development of research projects and the interpretation of results, are standardized protocols that allow purchase data between different groups integrate research and data analysis by statistical methods and bionformatics.

1.Hosting and treatment of biological samples in the biobank centralized CSISP.
It has the capability of handling and Storage of a large number of samples in the biobank's centralized CSISP.
The coordinator of this platform is Jacobo Santamaría Martínez, Director of CSISP Biobank.

The services offered are:
- Custody of typical samples.
- Cell cultures.
- Immortalization of lymphocytes.
- Separation of blood components.
- Gomoginizacion tissue / cells.
- Automated extraction of nucleic acids.
- Removing proteins.
 
Platform Infrastructure:
  CSISP biobank:
- Board of extractions. This room is equipped to perform blood draws for those donors who move to CSISP. It is necessary consumables for blood collection and a computer with access to SGI.
- Reception and Processing Laboratory. In this laboratory processed biological samples reach the laboratory. In this laboratory also places the horizontal laminar flow hood to prepare the PCR reagent mix.
- Molecular Biology Laboratory prepared for the amplification of DNA testing integrity and traceability of samples with a thermal cycler, fountains and buckets of electrophoresis, microwave, thermoblocks, temperature-controlled baths.
- Laboratory Quality Control and Final Processing, is the closet to paraffin blocks and the second of the filing of the FTA cards, Nanodrop ND2000, Micronic plate sealer.
- Laboratory of Cell Cultures of type II is equipped with CO2 incubator, inverted microscope, inert gas pressure reducer, tanning Bio-II incubators.
- Board of Storage and Cryopreservation has ultrafreezers at -80 ° C and CO2 bullets that will supply gas to freezers, nitrogen tank at -196 °C.

  2. Immunohistological studies, decentralized pathology services integrated hospitals in the RVB.
 
This service is decentralized pathology services in different hospitals, integrated into the RVB, participating in the biobank node cancer and are the reference laboratories for the determinations of PCGCV.
Both physicians and technical staff of the NMSC platform has the experience and ability to ensure the services offered by it.

- Thick Sections eppendorf tube.

  Extraction of nucleic acids:
- Manual removal of nucleic acids from fixed material and embedded in paraffin from cutting (manual microdissection).
- Manual removal of nucleic acids from fixed material and paraffin-embedded punch from (tissuearrayer) or thick sections.
- Manual removal of nucleic acids of thick sections from frozen tissue.
- Manual removal of nucleic acids from frozen tissue sections on slide.
- Manual removal of nucleic acids from fixed material and embedded in paraffin.
- Manual removal of nucleic acids from frozen tissue.
- Manual removal of proteins from frozen tissue.
- Histopathologic studies.
- Construction of tissue arrays (TMAs).
- Immunohistochemistry.
- Fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH).

  Hospital General Universitario de Alicante:
- Laboratory equipped with histopathology tissue processors, microtomes, dyers and auto assemblers. Beecher manual microarray. Multivision microscopes and digital microphotography equipment.
- Immunohistochemistry Laboratory equipped with 2 automatic computerized immunostainer Autostainer (Dako), with capacity for 120 slides.
- Laboratory of Molecular Biology with microcentrifuges, thermal cyclers, fountains and buckets of electrophoresis, microwave, transilluminator UV light, digital camera, thermoblocks, baths thermostatted blocks to work at 4 ° C and -20 ° C, automatic sequencer 1 capillary extractor acid nucleic quantitative real time PCR, laminar flow hood and UV spectrophotometer.

- The performance of services by the PTS is subject to the rates set for each process, although they may be amended in accordance with the commitments of collaboration that may arise between the applicant researcher and services specific PTS.
 
- Management of PTS services are made ¿¿through the coordinator of the RVB who according to the nature of requests contact with the coordinators of the PTS.
 
- Each PTS coordinator will conduct an evaluation of services that have been requested and an estimate of time needed for their implementation.
 
- After evaluating the proposal, a budget will be issued by each biobank and / or PTS laboratory investigator with an estimate of the execution time of them.
 
- Do not take out any service without the acceptance of the budget by the investigator nor the firm's commitment to performance by the biobank / laboratory performing the services regardless of the type of agreement that the parties can reach.


- The coordinator of the RVB will monitor the implementation process of the services to ensure compliance with the deadlines established and communicated to the researcher responsible for any incident arising during the implementation process.
