Dr. Clara Coscollà

She is the Head of the Food Safety Research Area of The Foundation for the Promotion of Health and Biomedical Research of Valencia Region (FISABIO). She holds a MSc in Public Health and Health Management and an International Ph.D. in Pharmacy from the University of Valencia (Spain).  She has performed stays in Europe (CNRS-ICARE and the University of Strasbourg) and Asia (Ministry of Industry and Forensic Laboratory of Makassar), developing new analytical techniques and assessing the risk and the occurrence of the pesticides in the atmosphere, water and food. She has been a member of  research groups in  European, national and regional projects related with analytical chemistry, atmospheric chemistry, occurrence and fate of pesticides in the air. Currently, she is the coordinator of the Atmospheric Pesticide Research Group of Valencia. She collaborates with the Ambient Air and Pesticides working group from the National Agency of Food Safety, Environment and Labour. She is co-author of more than 25 publications in peer reviewed international journals of high impact and chapter books. She has co-authored more than 35 presentations and communications in national and international congresses.

Dr. Vicent Yusà

Vicent Yusà is the Deputy Director General for Food Safety and Public Health Laboratories of the Directorate-General for Public Health in Valencia Region (Spain). He holds a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Valencia (Spain), and M.Sc. in Food Technology and Public Health. He is Associate Lecturer in Analytical Chemistry in the University of Valencia. He has an extensive expertise on the development of analytical methods for emerging pollutants in food and environment, and has also worked in the field of monitoring and exposure assessment of organic pollutants. He has been involved in different national and international projects and his scientific work has resulted in more than 60 papers published in international peer review journals during the last five years. He has eighteen years of experience in the direction and management of the official food and environmental laboratories, promoting the development of analytical methods, their validation and accreditation according with the European regulations guidelines (ISO 17025).

Antonio López

Antonio Lopez (FISABIO) is bachelor in Chemistry by the University of Valencia in 2013. He obtained his Ph.D in Experimental Techniques of Chemistry at the University of Valencia, Spain and he works in The Foundation for the Promotion of Health and Biomedical Research of Valencia Region (FISABIO). He has developed new analytical techniques and assessing the risk and the occurrence of the pesticides in the atmosphere. He is co-author of more than 10 publications in peer review journals of high impact about pesticides in ambient air. He has been a member of research groups in European and regional projects related with analytical chemistry, atmospheric chemistry, occurrence and fate of pesticides in the air.

Dr. Amalia Muñoz

She is a Senior Researcher at CEAM Foundation, and the Manager of the European Photo-reactor (EUPHORE). She obtained her PhD in chemistry at the University of Valencia, Spain.  Her main field of interest is the study of gas phase reactions relevant to photooxidant formation, pesticides and photocatalysis. She is co-author on over 40 publications in leading peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. She has been involved in several collaborative projects in the 5th, 6th and 7th Framework Programmes and LIFE projects. She was a principal investigator in the EU Integrated Infrastructures projects EUROCHAMP and EUROCHAMP-2 and in the forthcoming Eurochamp2020, and led and will lead also one Work Package in the 3 projects. Dr. Muñoz is currently the coordinator of an EU LIFE project: LIFE-PHOTOCITYTEX. In addition, she currently coordinates a national Spanish project and is a PI in other contracts/projects funded by other research institutions, Universities and private sector on atmospheric chemistry and fate of pesticides.

Dr. Teresa Vera

She is a Junior Researcher at CEAM Foundation. She obtained her Ph.D in Physical Chemistry at the Universitat de Valencia, Spain. She is responsible for the liquid chromatographic systems (LC-MS and HPLCs) at the EUPHORE department and the PTR-MS instrument. Her main interests are focussed on atmospheric chemistry, photochemical oxidation of compounds in the atmosphere, and chemical characterization of compounds in the gas and the particulate phase, i.e. pesticides. She is co-author in a number of papers in peer review journals of high impact and chapter books, and attended scientific symposiums with oral and poster contributions. She has also participated in national and international projects and contracts related to pesticides.

Dr. Esther Borrás

Bachelor in Chemistry, Facultad de CC. Químicas- Universidad de Valencia, 1996-2001. Diploma de Estudios Avanzados (DEA), Facultad de CC. Químicas-Universidad de Valencia. Analytical Chemistry Department,. PhD in Chemistry – Universidad Pólitécnica de Valencia, cum laude, 19th of July, 2013 titled: "Caracterización de material particulado atmosférico generado en reactores fotoquímicos y procedente de muestras ambientales". Junior Researcher in Fundación Centro de Estudios Ambientales del Mediterráneo (CEAM), from 2002. Her main interest are focused in Atmospheric Chemistry, photochemical oxidation of organic compounds emitted into the atmosphere, photochemical smog chambers, chemical characterization of atmospheric pollutants in both gas phase and particulate material. Development of analytical methodologies and sampling systems contaminants.
She is co-author of 25 articles in international journals, 2 book chapter and 35 stakes - type poster and oral - in National and International Congresses.

Milagros Ródenas

She is a Junior Researcher at CEAM Foundation. She is Physicist and Electronics Engineer by the University of Valencia, where she also obtained her Diploma for Advanced Studies of the PhD programme in Electronic Engineering. She is responsible for the optical systems at the EUPHORE department and has a wide experience in Infrared and UV systems. Her main interests include Atmospheric Chemistry, photochemical smog chambers, development of analytical systems and of new algorithms for data analysis, etc. She has programmed software for the analysis of spectroscopic data and applications which have been used in the characterization and study of the behaviour of a wide range of compounds, e.g. pesticides. She is also involved in the development of systems using low-cost micro-sensors to measure the air quality. She is co-author in 25 scientific articles in peer review journals and a number of chapter books, and has attended scientific congresses through posters and oral contributions. Also, she has participated in national and international projects and contracts about pesticides.

Prof. Enrique Moltó

He is Director of IVIA since 2014 and has been the head of the Agro-Engineering Centre of IVIA from 1994 to 2014. He holds a MSc and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering and a B.Sc in Computer Sciences from the Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain). He was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Florida, Gainesville, Fl.(USA) in 1991-1992. His research activity has been oriented to the employment and development of electronics and computer technologies in the field of agricultural engineering, specially in automated field and port-harves machinery. He has led more than 20 national and international projects and more than 17 cooperation agreements with national and international companies. He is co-author of more than 60 articles in peer reviewed scientific international journals, 17 scientific book chapters and 60 papers in technical journals. He is co-author of 10 machine patents and he has directed 12 Ph.D. thesis. He has been responsible of different working groups in CIGR (International Commission of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering) and EurAgEng (European Society of Agricultural Engineers) and is a member of European Bioeconomy Stakeholders Panel.

 

Dr. Patricia Chueca

She is in charge of the Agricultural Mechanization Laboratory at the Agro-Engineering Centre of IVIA since 2014. She holds a MSc and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering and a MSc in Environmental Sciences from the Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain).  She has performed a stay in the University of California in USA, optimizing spray application techniques in citrus. She has been a member of the research group of 5 European and national projects related with agricultural mechanization, precision agriculture, spray technology, environmental impact, drift, and integrated pest management. Currently, she is the coordinator of a national project related with the mechanization of harvest in citrus and the coordinator in contracts/projects funded by private sector related to the improvement of the efficiency of pesticide applications. She is part of a National and European working group on harmonization of dose expression in high growing crops. She is co-author of more than 19 articles in peer reviewed international journals and 34 research papers in national journals. She has co-authored more than 52 presentations and communications in national and international congresses and she has directed 3 Ph.D. thesis.

 

Dr. Cruz Garcerá

She is a member of the Agricultural Mechanization Lab at the Agro-Engineering Centre of IVIA. She holds a MSc and an International Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain).  She has performed a stay in the University of California in USA, optimizing spray application techniques in citrus. Her fields of interest are focussed on spray technology, spray drift, pesticide environmental impact, integrated pest management, agricultural mechanization and precision agriculture, where has participated as a member of the research group in national projects and agreements with private companies of the agricultural sector.  She is co-author of more than 15 publications in peer review journals of high impact, and more than 45 contributions to national and international conferences and 25 technical publications.






 

 

Esther Fuentes

Esther Fuentes (FISABIO) is bachelor in Chemistry by the University Jaume I, Castelló in 2018. She is a Ph.D. Student of the Jaume I University and she works in The Foundation for the Promotion of Health and Biomedical Research of Valencia Region (FISABIO). Her research activity focuses on the determination of pollutants in outdoor and indoor environments and on the human health risk assessment of the vulnerable population found in these environments. She is co-author of several publications in peer review journals of high impact about pesticides in ambient air and about chemical pollutants and bio-aerosols in indoor air.
 

Héctor Calvete

Héctor Calvete Sogo (CEAM) is an Environmentalist by the Polytechnical University of Valencia. He also obtained the Master and the PhD in Agri-Technology by the Polytechnical University of Madrid. During his PhD Héctor was focus on study the responses of the Mediterranean annual pasture communities to increased levels of surface O3 and N-deposition, the main atmospheric pollutants affecting the natural distribution area of this kind of pastures. Currently, he is a Junior Researcher and Project Manager of a European LIFE Project at CEAM Foundation. His role as Project Manager of the PERFECT (PEsticide Reduction using Friendly and Environmentally Controlled Technologies) LIFE Project is linking all the knowledge of Researchers, Technicians, Farmers, Policymakers and Stakeholders to reach the main goal of the project which is to demonstrate the possibility of a significant reduction of the environmental contamination of pesticides and their metabolites in the air using different tools and techniques. He is co-author of 16 articles in international journals, 6 book chapter and more than 50 participations in National and International Congresses.

 

Rubén Soler

Rubén Soler Moreno (CEAM) obtained his PhD in Environmental analysis and management at the Atmospheric Pollution Laboratory (LCA) of the Miguel Hernandez University of Elche. His thesis aimed to determine the particle number and mass concentration of particulate matter in the western Mediterranean basin and characterise the different transports of air masses at a high mountain range and their influence on atmospheric aerosol and the ozone. He is currently responsible for measuring HOx radicals by the FAGE-LIF technique in the EUPHORE simulation chambers. He also performs chamber simulations of photochemical degradation of atmospheric pollutants (e.g., VOCs, pesticides) and by-products with potential risk for health and the environment, analyses and compares the results with photochemical models based on Master Chemical Mechanism (MCM). He is co-author of several articles and posters in international journals and congresses.
